A minimalist studio explainer video for myGov’s Strong myGovID, combining live action performances with animated graphics and transition
IPER worked with myGov to develop a clean and contemporary studio film designed to explain Strong myGovID in a clear and accessible way. Pre production focused on simplifying a technical subject through strong visual storytelling and a minimalist approach. Concept development centred around using a cyclorama white studio, minimal props and two actors to keep the focus on message and performance. Planning also included mapping where animated graphics and transitions would integrate with the live action to support understanding and guide viewers through the information.
Production took place in a cyclorama white studio, creating a controlled environment that supported the film’s minimal aesthetic. Two actors performed within the space, with direction focused on natural movement and clear delivery. The simplicity of the set allowed each shot to feel intentional, while careful lighting and framing ensured visual consistency throughout. Filming was designed with post production in mind, allowing space within compositions for animation graphics and seamless transitions to interact with the live action.
In post production the film was shaped into a polished and engaging explainer piece. Editing focused on clarity, pacing and visual rhythm, ensuring the information was easy to follow. Animated graphics and transitions were layered into the live action footage to reinforce key concepts and add visual interest without overwhelming the minimalist design. Colour grading and sound design brought cohesion to the final piece, resulting in a professional and modern film that communicates the benefits of Strong myGovID with clarity and confidence.
