A school highlight film exploring how Wellington Point State High School provides additional support to help students reconnect with learning, navigate change and find their place at school.
Every student’s experience at school is different, and sometimes a little extra support can make an important difference. IPER worked with Wellington Point State High School to create a highlight film focused on the school’s approach to supporting students who may be struggling with attendance and engagement, as well as those transitioning from other schools. Through interviews and B-roll captured across the school, the film explores how additional guidance, connection and individual support can help students feel more comfortable in their environment, re-engage with their education and move forward with greater confidence.
For some young people, regularly attending and engaging with school can become challenging. Wellington Point State High School provides additional support to students who need help reconnecting with their education and becoming more engaged in school life. The film explores this approach through the experiences of the people involved, highlighting the importance of understanding individual circumstances and providing students with the guidance they need to find a way forward.
Transitioning into a new school can also be a significant adjustment, particularly for students arriving from different learning environments. Wellington Point State High School works to help these students settle into their new surroundings, build connections and feel that they belong within the school community. By providing additional support during that transition, students are given the opportunity to establish a stronger foundation for their learning and participation at school.
IPER captured interviews alongside natural B-roll from around Wellington Point State High School, allowing the people involved to explain the initiative while showing the support and school environment in action. The finished piece highlights the work happening beyond the classroom to help students overcome barriers, reconnect with their education and feel supported as part of their school community.
Travis and the IPER crew were brilliant to work with. Not only did they produce an amazing product, they did so whilst directing approximately 100 teenagers, in multiple locations, over five long days of filming! Not an easy task! They steered our school project in a creative, emotive direction, and produced a video that told a story. Our video encompasses all of the particulars we needed it to, in a visually-beautiful style. Thank you IPER - we are extremely grateful for all your time and efforts.
